As a result of periodontal disease, trauma from occlusion, orthodontic tooth movement, Mucosa consistency soft tissue and occasionally aggressive tooth brushing habits, gingival tissue (gums) will recede. The irregular gingival contour and the exposed root surface may affect the smile line or cause sensitivity respectively.
Connective tissue graft will improve the quality of the gingiva and repair the recession defect to prevent further loss.
