Ostaad's Marker
Ostaad's peom for his marker in his handwriting (1990).
Lili, one of Ostaad's favorite nieces, calligraphed the poem, which made it possible to be engraved for Ostaad's marker.
The marker was installed on the birthday that Ostaad had made up for himself!
Apparently when Ostaad was first getting a passport to go to Germany to study, while converting his birthday
to the Gregorian calendar, he recorded it as September 20th. But his real birthday, the one in his birth certificate,
is November 24th. There was no discrepancy in the year! And of course we had cakes both days,
